S.U.R.E., together with the Swampscott Public Library. is proud to bring you One Topic One Town: A Journey Towards Dismantling Racism.

Racism is a problem in our country, and no city or town is exempt from it. Our goal is not only to raise awareness about systemic racism in our society, but to take a look at ourselves, at our history, and to elevate the voices of our brothers and sisters of color.

Let’s read some books!  All books are available at the library.  Read One, read them all.  Join us for book discussions and other programming.

We are proud to announce that Sofia McDonald will be joining us via Zoom on Thursday, January 7th at 6 pm. McDonald is from the Equal Justice Initiative, the organization that Bryan Stevenson, author of Just Mercy, founded in 1989. E.J.I. works to educate the public about systemic racism, and represents individuals who have been illegally convicted, unfairly sentenced, or abused in state jails and prisons. McDonald will talk to us about E.J.I. and the work she does within it.
